Visitors!

What a Weekend!

It started with visitors, and ended with a hurricane... (sound familiar?)

Over on my sister's blog she shared some pictures of playing in the leaves on Friday afternoon, but I don't have any of those...

So we'll start with Saturday morning - We went to the Quality Evergreens place down the road to pick some pumpkins and ride the hayride.

oh yeah... and there was a train!!!

Connor loved the goats at the petting zoo area

newlyweds!

playing in the corn crib - it was slippery and Connor kept falling down!

going to get some pumpkins ~ who's excited?? ;)

"Cheese"
Saturday evening we went to Cadorus to trick-or-treat in the campground.
The website for the event was a plethora of information, including this fact:  "Campers can expect around 1,000 trick-or-treaters each night".... that's right.  1,000.
We timed everything exactly right - we pulled into the parking area with no line, trick-or-treated right away while we had some day light left... then rode the hayride with a minumal wait.  It was great!

all dressed up!

Look Aunt Laura!  candy!

We loved trick-or-treat!

Uncle Tom, Aunt Chelle, Chloe, and Uncle Kevin counting the candy!
Another post soon to share the "storm" photos... :)

Leaves

Our front yard tree has a LOT of leaves.

We've been raking for quite a few days now...

Connor really likes the leaves, but he doesn't really help keep them in a pile!

Trick or Treat

Someone at our house loves his train costume...

and did a great job trick-or-treating tonight!

We can't wait to go again on Saturday!!!

why yes, that is a clothespin holding his costume together... it was just a little too long in the front, but I pinned the sides together with the clothespins and that solved the problem!

Who do you see?

This didn't work for me when I shared the rest of the fire-truck visit day... so I decided to try it again, and this time it worked!

It's October... and there are chores to be done

You know you aren't in Pittsburgh anymore when it's the middle of October...

and you are still mowing the grass.

Bill isn't really loving this chore anymore (I reminded him that the year we bought our house, we had to mow twice - with a borrowed mower - and we moved in during the month of November.  True story.)

But... guess who is loving it?  Connor boy!

Nothing better the Mow-Mowing with Dad (and letting Mom cook dinner take pictures!!!)

p.s. all you Pittsburghers... another thing we aren't missing out here - Wearing snow pants on Halloween. ;)

Fire Truck (!!!)

Connor's daycare got a visit from the Hanover Fire Department as part of fire prevention week.

This could be the very best day of Connor's life up until this point, ... at least in his eyes!

He waited patiently while the firemen talked and showed their equipment.

Then it was outside to see the fire truck!!!!

Lots of "whoa" and "wow" ... most of our time was spent in awed silence.

It was the best. day. ever.  ;)

Love and Marriage

Michelle got married on Saturday.

:)

It was a busy weekend, full of driving, helping, more driving, getting ready, packing, last-minute details, a wonderful ceremony and a fun party!

Bill did the music and I was a bridesmaid... and we have a kid... (THANKS TO MY IN-LAWS FOR BEING WONDERFUL BABYSITTERS ALL WEEKEND!!!!) so I didn't take many pictures.

But, hopefully we'll get some good ones and print them out and frame them so all will seem normal. :)

We have eleven people in our family now... not just the five I grew up with.
Crazy right?
:)

:)

Yeah, just posing here by the tree, with a leaf, and a jean jacket.
For my senior pictures... good grief he is so young and old at the same time!
Wonder what our house will look like in 16 more years...
;)
Happy "flash forward" Monday!
